mg/dL

About this Calculator

The Martin equation estimates LDL cholesterol from a standard lipid panel using a novel factor that varies with triglycerides and non-HDL cholesterol, instead of the fixed triglyceride ÷ 5 used in Friedewald.

Non-HDL = Total cholesterol - HDL
LDL = Non-HDL - (Triglycerides / Novel factor)

Triglycerides are entered in mg/dL. Total and HDL cholesterol may be entered in mg/dL or mmol/L. Always discuss results with your healthcare provider.
