The low alerts are the reason I rely on my CGM

I started using a CGM because I wanted to understand my glucose patterns better, but the low sugar alerts became one of the features I paid the most attention to.

I have been wondering how accurately CGMs detect low glucose and how much confidence people should place in those alerts, especially during sleep or when glucose is changing quickly.

For people who use CGMs regularly, how do you decide when an alert is enough information and when you confirm with another test? Has understanding low alerts changed how you manage your diabetes?

The low alerts were actually the feature that made me feel safer using a CGM. Before that, I worried about not noticing lows, especially overnight.
