Newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and honestly feeling completely overwhelmed
I was diagnosed with Type 1 recently and honestly I'm still trying to process everything.
I've been home for a few days now and I feel like my entire day revolves around my sugar. I'm constantly checking my CGM, worrying about what I'm eating and wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
Food is probably confusing me the most right now. I normally eat rice or roti pretty regularly and now I'm almost scared of eating anything with carbs because I keep thinking my sugar is going to shoot up.
I know I'll probably get used to all of this eventually, but right now it feels like a lot.
For those of you who've had Type 1 for a while, what were your first few weeks/months like? What helped you stop overthinking everything?
