My CGM is on and I have an upcoming scan

The biggest thing I learned was not to assume all CGMs have the same rules. The answer depends on the exact model, so I always check the device instructions before any scan.

My imaging center asked for the exact CGM name before the appointment. Having the model information ready made the conversation much easier.

I would also check whether the guidance applies to the sensor only or the whole system. Some people forget that transmitters, readers, phones, or connected pumps may have separate instructions.

The radiology team usually needs to know about any medical devices you are wearing. I now mention my CGM whenever I schedule imaging instead of waiting until I arrive.

CT and MRI are different types of imaging, so I would not assume that approval for one automatically means approval for the other. Checking the exact instructions is important.

I keep a note on my phone with my CGM model and manufacturer information. It helps when I am speaking with a new clinic or hospital.

The phrase 'MR Conditional' also caused confusion for me. It does not mean every MRI situation is automatically allowed without checking the conditions.

I think the safest habit is treating your CGM details like medication information. Keep the model name available and share it before procedures.
