Insulin injections during periods?

Does anyone else find insulin injections much harder when they're on their period?

I get really bad cramps and bloating, and on the worst days I don't want anything touching my stomach. Even trying to pinch the skin to inject feels horrible. My hands also get shaky when the pain is bad, so sometimes I sit there with the pen for ages before I can actually do it.

I've always used my stomach most of the time, so I'm wondering what other women do on days like this. Do you use another injection site until the pain settles down?
