I'm so tired of injections that I've started skipping my insulin
I've had Type 1 since I was a kid and for years I was pretty good about doing what I needed to do. Lately something has changed and I just feel completely done with it.
It's not that I don't understand why I need insulin. I do. I'm just so tired of injections, checking my sugar, thinking about food and having diabetes sitting in the back of my mind all day. Sometimes I look at the injection and I just can't make myself do it.
I've started skipping insulin because of this and I'm scared by how easy it has become to tell myself I'll deal with it later. I haven't told my parents how bad it's gotten because I know they'll worry and I also feel embarrassed that I can't handle something I've been doing for years.
Has anyone else gone through a phase like this? How did you get yourself out of it?
