I was scared of mixing up my insulin devices

I've recently started using more than one type of insulin and I'm realizing how easy it is to get confused.

Different pens, different concentrations, different names on the labels... it feels like there are a lot of opportunities to make a mistake when you're tired or in a hurry.

For people who use different insulin types or devices, what habits have helped you avoid mix-ups? Do you label pens, keep them in separate places, use different cases, or have any routines that make things easier?

The biggest thing that helped me was creating a routine. My different insulin pens always stay in the same places and I never leave them mixed together in one pouch.

Same. I used to think I would remember which one was which, but when you're half asleep that confidence disappears pretty quickly.

I use different colored cases for my pens. It sounds simple, but the visual difference helps when I'm tired or my eyesight isn't great.

The visual cue idea is actually smart. We do something similar with my mother's medicines because labels are not always easy to read quickly.

I learned not to rely only on the pen color because manufacturers change designs sometimes. I always check the label before using anything.
