I was not sure if this was a side effect or something serious

When starting a new diabetes or weight-management treatment, it can be difficult to know what symptoms are expected and what symptoms should not be ignored.

Some side effects may be temporary, but other situations may need quicker medical attention. I am trying to understand how people decide when to contact their healthcare team urgently instead of waiting for a routine appointment.

For people who have gone through this, what helped you recognize when something needed faster attention? Did your doctor give you specific warning signs to watch for?

I'm interested in the practical side of knowing when a symptom crosses the line from something to monitor to something that needs assessment.

When I started a new treatment, I spent a lot of time wondering whether every unusual feeling was normal. Having clear guidance from my doctor helped me know what to watch.

Same here. The uncertainty was harder than the symptom itself sometimes.
