I nearly bought the wrong strips for my meter

I was ordering glucose test strips and noticed that the same company had several boxes with very similar names. That made me wonder whether strips from one meter can be used in another meter from the same brand, or even in a completely different meter.

I always assumed a test strip was basically a test strip, but now I'm realizing the meter and strip may be designed to work as a specific system.

Has anyone accidentally bought strips for the wrong model? How do you make sure you're getting the right ones, especially when ordering online or asking someone else to pick them up for you?
