I keep hearing semaglutide mentioned for conditions beyond diabetes

I have been reading about semaglutide and noticed that people discuss it not only for diabetes, but also for things like prediabetes, PCOS, and insulin resistance.

I am trying to understand where it actually fits in these situations. Does having one of these conditions automatically mean someone should consider semaglutide, or are there specific factors doctors look at before discussing it?

For people who have researched this, what helped you understand whether semaglutide was relevant for your situation?

I had this question with prediabetes. I assumed a medicine used for diabetes would automatically be the next step, but my doctor explained that prevention, lifestyle changes, and medication decisions depend on the whole situation.

That was my understanding too. Having a condition associated with blood sugar problems does not always mean the same treatment applies to everyone.
