I do not have diabetes but I keep hearing about semaglutide for weight loss

I have been seeing a lot of discussion about semaglutide and weight loss, but most diabetes conversations make me unsure where obesity treatment fits in.

I do not have diabetes, so I am trying to understand whether semaglutide can be used specifically for obesity and what doctors consider before prescribing it.

For people who have looked into this, what did you learn about who may be considered for treatment? Did the discussion focus only on weight, or were other health factors important too?

I'm interested in understanding how doctors approach semaglutide when the goal is obesity treatment rather than diabetes management.

I had the same confusion because I mostly heard about semaglutide in diabetes discussions. Then I learned that the same type of medicine can be discussed in different contexts depending on the condition being treated.
