About this Calculator

This calculator uses the Friedewald formula to estimate LDL cholesterol levels:

LDL = Total Cholesterol - HDL - (Triglycerides ÷ 5)

The formula is most accurate when triglycerides are below 400 mg/dL. For higher triglyceride levels, direct LDL measurement may be more reliable.
